ryone is different when it comes to finding the self improvement tools that will work best for them. Having worked with a lot of clients and assigned hundreds of exercises, there are a handful I assign over and over again because they work.
I recommend these simple exercises to all of my clients because they work and they work for life.
As with an self improvement exercise, the goal is to keep on the positive side of life. Make sure your process is centered in goodness and keeps your best interests at heart.
Acknowledge yourself. Too often I hear my clients downplay their achievements, mostly because they have expectations of what success is supposed to be and if they are not reaching those (usually impossible) goals [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], then there is nothing to celebrate. I am here to tell you that if you cannot celebrate the small milestones, you will never be able to really celebrate the big ones. Acknowlege yourself DAILY for the risks you've taken [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], for the scary things you've done, or for whatever you are proud of having done that day. Write down at least 5 things every day.
Be grateful. It works. Write down 5 things you were grateful for every day. Here's the challenge: those gratitudes must be about the challenges you faced that day: from the surly checkout clerk (I'm grateful for all of the money I saved using coupons) to the flat tire on the interstate (I'm grateful it was a sunny mild day). By focusing on the gifts or the lessons presented in your challenges, you become more and more attune to them as they happen.
With gratitudes and acknowledgements, doing them daily helps to grow your ocean of positivity and confidence. Every time you acknowledge yourself, every time you find the positivity in a situation is a drop in the bucket. Eventually all of those drops become a wonderful positive energy system that you need in order to feel good and to love yourself.
Get to the Point. My favorite exercise I give my clients is to get to the bottom of why they want something. To do this, you must take your desire (example: I want to start a business) and ask yourself "If you had that [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], then what would you have" (example: if I started a new business, I would be able to be in charge of my own life.) You may need to ask yourself the question more than once to get to the essential need or want in your life. Once you find your true desire, you can use that as an intention to keep you going when challenges arise or you want to quit.
These self improvement exercises can be done every day. They are simple and effective and will change your life for the better!
