It has recently been noted that the number of cases of bed bugs has risen dramatically across the United States. Some people believe that there has been a five hundred percent increase in the number of real infestations of bed bugs in recent years within the US. It has had the knock on effect of there being a larger number of companies that are having to cope with over one hundred call outs each in a single year which was previously unheard of.
A lot of thought has been given about why there has been this increase in recent times and in some parts of the country they have actually seen the bugs for the first time. So people who are seen as experts in this area have managed to come up with a couple of reasons as to how this may have happened.
One possible reason is the change in the pesticides that have been licensed as being fit for use around humans. The theory is that some of those that have been banned were more capable of killing them off than these new ones so they are able to then be transported around the county a lot easier than before.
They do have to be transported in things such as clothes or luggage as they do not actually live on you. As was just mentioned they do not live on you but they do feed on you as you sleep even although it is painless and you are simply not aware of anything. It has led to more people buying hypoallergenic bed linen in order to create a barrier between them and you at night as some people are allergic to the bugs. The only problem is if you have been travelling it can take seven days before any signs of an allergy appears so you have no idea if it is your home or elsewhere that you were bitten in.
So if you feel you have them or you know you do you should realise that it is extremely expensive to actually have them removed. This is because it is very difficult for the companies however the figures clearly show that more and more people are not caring about the expense as they just want them taken out of their home.
