The song illustrates how the father was always there for the son, through the good times and the more difficult ones, and it explores the beautiful impact his father left on him. This song truly tugs at one's heartstrings, and is relatable and personal to anybody who shares a positive bond with their father.
The highlight track of the record is "My Ol' Man," a stirring ballad, co-written by Rory and yet another country singer Luke Bryan. On lead vocals on this tune, Rory pays homage to his "ol' man" and praises him for his uniqueness, sterness, integrity, hard-working nature, creativity, as well as for being old-fashioned.
Joey + Rory's "Album # 2" opens with the title track tune, a sincere uptempo song about the duo's perceptions of their new album. In the second track "That's Important To Me [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," the duo discusses all the things that they find significant in life.
Uptempo songs on the record such as "All You Need Is Me," as well as "Baby I'll Come Back To You," include references to two other established male vocalists in country music such as the legendary George Strait and Toby Keith respectively.
"God Help My Man," is a woman's warning to her spouse of all the negative consequences he will endure if she were to find out he was cheating on her, especially after she works a great deal to do his chores, care for him and make him happy.
Album #2: Notable Tracks From the Record
Country music duo, Joey + Rory, is composed of a real life couple, husband and wife "Joey" Martin Feek and "Rory" Lee Feek. They were the third place finalists on CMT's singing competition "Can You Duet," in 2008. In 2010, the duo was honored by the Academy of Country Music (ACM) as the "Top New Vocal Duo of the Year," thanks to the success of their debut record "The Life of a Song" which reached #10 on the Billboard Country Album Charts, as well as their debut single "Cheater, Cheater" which peaked at #30 of the Billboard Country Charts.
Joey + Rory: Album #2
"Farm To Fame" talks about a country's stars journey from working in a farm to landing a major record deal in Nashville; after that country singer's fifteen minutes of fame were up, he went "from rags to riches to rags again."
"Born To Be Your Woman," is a love ballad and quintessential wedding song on the record, told mostly from the perspective of the wife [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], very reminiscent lyrically to the duet "My Kind of Woman, My Kind of Man," by country music stars Vince Gill and Patty Loveless.
On September 14, 2010, country music duo Joey + Rory released their sophomore record entitled "Album #2" through Sugar Hill Records and Vanguard Records respectively. This article reviews their latest album release. Particularly impressive about Joey + Rory is that their music targets listeners and fans of traditional country music.
Joey + Rory: Background on the Duo
The closing track "This Song's for You" is the lead-off single from the album. "This Song's for You" is a revelation, which pays tribute to the duo's dedicated fans and the listeners of "real country music." In the songs lyrics, they state that although Joey + Rory may be "up on stage," the fans are truly "the stars" of the show, since they are the reason why they "to do what they do." With the Grammy-award winning band [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the Zac Brown Band on harmony vocals on this tune, and an acapella ending of t
