Knowing The Right Time To Ask For Something From Your Parents
Although your parents try to always say that you can ask them for anything at any time, there are still certain topics that require careful thought before being put out. It would be nice if you can simply come up to them and ask to your heart's content, but, knowing most parents today, this rarely happens.
A lot of things need to be considered before you can be sure that your request will be granted. The time when you ask your parents something can determine whether your parents will give you what you are asking for or not. There moods might also be a big influence. Here are a few hints on how you can know if it's the right time to ask for something from your parents.
Avoid bad moods.
Whenever you want to ask your parents something, you need to make sure that they are in their best sunny moods. It would be a very big mistake if you try to ask for something when they are feeling rather upset and agitated, or if when they are very tense or stressed out. They just might end up channeling their negative behavior and emotions onto you and your request.
Avoid getting caught in the crossfire of your parent's onslaught of negative emotions by asking something from them only when they are very calm and relaxed, and, if possible, when they are in a jolly mood. Their positive emotions and behavior may be reflected on their decision, and eventually grant you your request.
Read the situation.
If your parents are having a financial crisis at the moment,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it would be very awkward and stupid of you to ask your parents for an increase in your allowance, or some money so you can go on a vacation trip with your friends. Learn to read the situation, and use it to know when to properly ask something from your parents.
Get on their good side.
One of the perfect times to ask something from your parents is if you are on their good side. This means that you have to do something to make them proud of you and happy. Get good grades, or do some household chores that your parents have been meaning for you to do. It would be better if you would do the things that you don't normally do, to make it more effective, since it is unexpected. Once you made them happy and proud,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], you can then ask something from them. They will be too consumed with their emotions to say no to you.
Whenever you may decide to ask something from your parents,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], just remember that if they did decide to say no, it is not because they just want to disappoint, but because of some reason that they believe is best for you. If you really want to make them say yes, don't fight with them to make them change their mind. Instead,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], explain to them your situation. If you have proven your point well enough, they just might change their minds about your request.
