First of all, though, let's take a look at the world of mobile phones. What is going to happen? What devices are going to wow us?
Well, the first thing is sure to be mobile gaming. Despite being around for, like, ever, it's still really in its infancy, and has a looooong way to go to dominate the world. But steps are being made in the right direction with Nokia's N-Gage portal, and if Sony Ericsson ever get their finger out and make a PSP-Phone e with GPS, and if ever there was a feature that has 'win' written all over it, this is it! And then, of course, the convergence of mobile phones and data devices will keep on happening; you can already see it happening in recently-announced mobile phones like the Sony Ericsson X1 Xperia, which is frankly, just too powerful for words!

You can actually see phones evolving, as new and better features are added to them. Following the traditional model of technology, they get added to the top-end handsets first, then gradually filter down to the middle ranks, and then hit the budget market. And, I hasten to add, without spending hours trying to hunt down a WiFi hotspot! Mobile broadband will take over the world. It's too cool not to!
