A woman loves her adoptive parents, but is curious about her biological origins. Another searches for her biological brother and is delighted to discover she has a sister too. A husband and wife search for the daughter they gave away as teenagers. These are among the back stories presented by the newest entry to ABC prime time, Find My Family, a show which helps individuals who have hit dead ends in the search for family members from whom they were separated through adoption. Hosts Tim Green and Lisa Joyner are the guides on the emotional journey as participants seek to extend family, gain validation and find answers to long held questions.
The producers of Find My Family have proven experience in creating a successful series designed to warm the heart as it advances the importance of family. They are also responsible for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, the ABC hit family reality series now in its 7th season. Empathetic host Ty Pennington is the contact person for a family whose challenges include living in a house that is either in some form of disrepair or does not meet the needs of its residents. Once they are successful, the initiating party is then requested to write a letter as a way to establish contact with the located family. As Green narrates and maintains connection with the initiating family member, Joyner acts as contact person with the located family as they view photographs and learn about the family member with whom they will soon unite. The tenderness and empathy demonstrated by Green and Joyner help to stir the emotions of both family members and the viewing audience.
Initiation, Investigation and Contact

Like Green, Joyner also has a background in sports, having begun her Emmy-winning broadcast career as an intern in the sports department at KNBC-TV. Also a child of adoption, Joyner's personal experience may have inspired her to pay it forward as she and her husband are themselves adoptive parents.
