Think about all of the drivers out there who drive while constantly distracted. When you know that you are going to go out for a ride somewhere, make sure that you are wide awake and alert. This is especially important if you are planning on traveling at night or if you are getting ready for a long car ride. While driving in your car, keep the internal temperature at a temperature that is not too warm but not too cold. The warmer the internal temperature of your vehicle, the more comfortable you will feel. It may even make you so comfortable that you find yourself becoming groggy or tired. Turn your radio down to a reasonable level so that you can hear if an emergency vehicle is approaching or if there is some other sort of emergency is heading your way. You want to make sure that you are in a position for being able to make quick decisions and react quickly if needed. Too often, people are distracted because their radios are turned up so loud that it prevents them from knowing what is going on around them. The next time that you are driving next to someone who is obviously not paying attention to what is going on, do the smart thing and either go around them or slow down to allow them to get to wherever they are going. The last thing that you want to do is drive beside them, because there is no telling when they will swerve off of the road or into you.
